Commonly, women would lead clans and families. It was a matriarchal society. Women were highly valued and regarded.
The Celtic people had four ways to gain social status. They were: having an astute or shrewd marriage, bravery in battle, many hilltop forts called oppidas, and generosity.
During times of crisis people went to Druids for spiritual advice

The Celtic people before the time of Christianity had a polytheistic religion.

In the Ancient Celtic religion there were three main people that kept up the religion. Druids were the teachers of the Celtic religion. The Bards were the poets, or scriptural writers of the religion. The final person was the Vate. A Vate was the priest.
They did not believe in punishment after death. In fact, they believed that you could be reincarnated as an animal or go to a land of eternal happiness.

The Celtic people had their own language unlike the rest of Europe they did not speak Latin. They in fact spoke a language called Gaelic.
The Celtic people had a high regard for their women, they believed that they were descendants of the war Goddess.
Often when the Celts came to a new country they did not conquer, they instead tried to compromise with those who were living in the area they expanded to.
