A Claddagh ring is made out of three main things. A heart, a crown and two hands clasping the heart.
The heart means love; the crown means loyalty; the hands clasping the heart means friendship.
At times a ring can be found without a crown. This is known as a Fenian Claddagh.
The first Irish Claddagh was made outside Galway in the fishing district of Claddagh.
Claddagh rings over years of being worn are known to become 'warped' otherwise known as damaged.
